About the role

Our Strategic Planning team offers an inspiring environment to grow and develop your skills as a professional urban planner. The environment is high performing, friendly and fun.

The complexity and diversity of the Inner West offers wide ranging experience for planners. If you join us you will have the opportunity to lead and guide a high performing team that prepares implements and monitors integrated planning policy for the inner west.

The Team Leader will lead, supervise and co-ordinate the activities of the Infrastructure Planning Team to ensure the team consistently works to meet its targets and commitments against their individual or teamwork or performance plans and Council’s Operational and Strategic Plans. The position will also motivate and inspire the team, coach and develop staff, facilitate partnerships across Council and help solve problems and resolve issues, and model achievement of goals and commitments.

Remuneration

$119,577.12 to $133,929.12 + Superannuation

Access to IWC Motor Vehicle Leaseback Scheme or Car Allowance

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

1. Tertiary qualifications in town planning, land economics, strategic finance, or related

2. Extensive experience in Strategic Planning, preparation of Development Contributions Plans and associated frameworks and strategies.

3. Excellent knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act and related planning legislation.

4. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team and its functions to achieve outcomes that address current challenges for the council and its commitments to the community.

5. Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence
