The opportunity

Inner West Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Early Learning team as an Early Learning Assistant Trainee. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about nurturing children's growth and development in a dynamic, supportive environment.

You will play a vital role in providing quality care and contributing to the smooth operation of our early learning centre while gaining valuable experience in childcare. 

What is the traineeship 

This is a 12-month supported program you will receive continuous assistance throughout the journey.
There will be on the job training and formal training and assessment completing a Certificate III in Early Learning
You will work towards achieving the competencies outlined in a training plan, complete assigned training and assessments, and maintain a training record.

About the role

Provide input into programs to meet the physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of the children.
Consistently interact with children in a caring and positive manner.
Assist in ensuring children’s health and hygiene is optimal at all times according to Centre procedures. For eg; mealtimes, toileting and rest time procedures.  
Demonstrate initiative, innovation and flexibility in undertaking tasks, projects and other allocated work as required.

Remuneration

From $827.40 per week + superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

  • 18 years or over
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service including interacting and communicating effectively with children, parents, staff and other stakeholders 
  • Capacity and willingness to undertake a Certificate III in Children’s Services (CHC30402). 
  • First Nations peoples are encouraged to apply
