About the role

The Environment Officer in the Community Sustainability team is responsible for implementing projects working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to find creative solutions to urban sustainability issues. The role will work with individuals, groups, and business and others in the Environment and Sustainability Group to engagement, projects and partnerships relating to urban sustainability.

Remuneration

$82,325.88 to $96,228.08 + 11.5% Superannuation 

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

  1. Tertiary qualifications, or current enrolment in a tertiary course in a relevant field.
  2. . Ability to deliver innovative sustainability programs, projects and engagement to varying audiences. 
  3.  High standard of communication including; interpersonal and written skills, giving presentations and ability to prepare reports.
  4.  Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  5.  Demonstrated knowledge of key sustainability issues, including climate change, energy, waste and resource recovery, water conservation, biodiversity. 
  6.  Experience in working with and an understanding of the dynamics of community-based groups and programs 
  7.  Experience in managing and running community events, workshops and activities.
