Council’s Family Day Care Scheme provides support to educators registered with Council who are self-employed operating their own education and care service in their own homes. Our Family Day Care Officers are employees of Council who provide wide ranging support to the educators and in the operation of Scheme.
Our Family Day Care Officers are accountable for assisting the Co-ordinator in the day to day running of the Family Day Care Scheme and contributing to developing quality partnerships with families and the wider community. Family Day Care Officer's will also support, supervise and mentor the Educators to plan, programme and implement a secure, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children using the Early Years Learning Framework and My Time Our Place.
The position is a Part Time Position based on 24 hours per week.

$54,950.86 - $62,312.64 + 11.5% Superannuation prorated to 24 hours per week.
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
- University Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood or Diploma of Children’s Services or equivalent as approved by ACECQA (Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority)
- Experience as an active and collaborative educator for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, with sound working knowledge of child development, positive behaviour guidance techniques and strategies for children
- Proven ability to apply knowledge and evidence of the following:
a. Current NSW Working with Children Check clearance
b. Identify and Respond to Children at Risk of Harm Statement of Attainment or willingness to undertake the course
c. Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), either proficient or provisional rating, if an Early Childhood Teacher
d. Current First Aid Certificate including emergency management of asthma and anaphylaxis, or willingness to undertake the course - Current Driver's Licence and own motor vehicle.
- Willingness to undertake role of Responsible Person under the National Education and Care Services Regulations as required
