Join us as an Office of Sports Coordinator and play a vital role in advancing the health and wellbeing of residents within Inner West Council.
Combat increasing incidence of lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity by increasing access to community sports and recreation.
Promote healthy lifestyles from an early age and work with local community sporting bodies to remove economic and social barriers to sports participation.
Collaborate with local sports clubs to set ambitious targets for women and girls' participation in sports and create evidence-based programs that enhance community health and wellbeing.
As an Office of Sports Coordinator, you'll work towards building stronger communities by driving participation in community sports - building community cohesion and social wellbeing.
You'll have the opportunity to work with community sports clubs to ensure they get the recognition, support, and investment they need while ensuring equitable allocation of recreation and sporting opportunities within parks.
Reporting to the Parks Planning & Ecology Manager, you'll work collaboratively with a team of experts to achieve individual and teamwork plans while contributing to the success of the service unit. In this role, you'll be community-focused and passionate about creating a healthier and stronger community.

$98,064.20 - $112.448.44 + 11% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in sport and recreation or a related discipline OR significant relevant equivalent industry experience at a senior level
- Ability to assess community recreational needs
- Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, public engagement and stakeholder management skills, including demonstrated experience working with sporting clubs.
- Demonstrated financial management, grant application, procurement and budgetary experience
- High level analytical and problem solving skills with the capacity to inspire and support innovative thinking
- Knowledge and skills in contemporary change management and quality management systems
- Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence
