About the role

The Landscape Architect provides expert technical advice and assessment of landscape works associated with a broad range of development applications, including single dwellings, multi-unit residential, commercial, and industrial proposals.

Inner West Council has set an achievable overall canopy target of 25% and this role seeks to support the delivery of that target to contribute to the liveability of the Inner West.

This role ensures landscape plans are compliant with Council’s planning instruments and relevant legislation and conducts compliance inspections of implemented landscape works prior to the issuance of Occupation Certificates. The position also contributes specialist input to support the development assessment process, planning policy development, and the operation of future compliance review mechanisms.

Remuneration

$103,079.60 to $137,420.92 + 12% Superannuation 

Access to Car Allowance 

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

1. Qualifications in landscape architecture or equivalent qualifications.
2. Experience in landscape plan review, and preparation of technical advice & report writing.

3. Awareness of the development assessment process, including the integration of landscape conditions and the requirement for compliance inspections prior to the issuing of an Occupation Certificate.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to brief internal staff, prepare formal notices for external stakeholders, and clearly convey technical requirements to applicants and certifiers.
5. Class C NSW Drivers Licence
