About the role

The Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Centre Director position is responsible for the provision of a high quality outside school hours care (OSHC) service for up to 140 primary school children between 5-12 years. You will ensure the service complies with all relevant requirements of the National Law and Regulations for Early Childhood Education and Care Services.

You will be responsible for leading, supporting and mentoring the team to ensure that a high quality educational program is developed, implemented and documented to meet the ‘My Time Our Place’ school age care framework.

Remuneration

$78,930.65 - $95,141.28 + 12% Superannuation (The annual salary is based on 30 hours per week)

In addition to the above-stated salary, Council’s ECEC (Early Childhood Education and Care) employees also enjoy a generous boost in their pay courtesy of the Australian government’s ECEC Worker Retention Payments Grants available up to the end of November 2026.

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Primary Education or OSHC at Associate Diploma level.
  2. Demonstrated and considerable experience working in an outside school hours care centre working with children aged 5-12 years and developing and implementing Quality Improvement Plans and leading services through the Assessment and Rating process.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of the current legislation governing OSHC services, including National Law and Regulations and NSW child protection legislative requirements along with professional and ethical approach to all aspects of work, ensuring ethical and appropriate conduct of self and staff.
  4. Proven high level verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with proven leadership and people management skills including experience in staff supervision, mentoring, rostering and performance management.
  5. Working knowledge of funding available to OSHC and demonstrated administrative skills including computer skills 
  6. Proven ability to apply knowledge and evidence of the following:
    • NSW Working with Children Check Clearance 
    • Identify and Respond to Children at Risk of Harm Statement of Attainment
    • Child Protection and Mandatory Reporters requirements and guidelines
    • National Childsafe Foundation Training
    • Current first aid certificate; and completion of approved course/s in anaphylaxis and asthma Management
    • Approved and up to date police check.
    • Current PRODA account
