The Coordinator Buildings Asset Planning leads a specialist team responsible for the strategic planning, performance and long‑term sustainability of Inner West Council’s building assets. You’ll oversee the development and annual review of the Building Asset Management Plan, using data‑driven insights to guide maintenance, renewal and capital investment decisions.
The role combines technical expertise with leadership and collaboration. You’ll provide strategic advice on asset condition and lifecycle planning, coordinate renewal and maintenance programs, manage budgets and reporting and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards. You’ll also review project designs, manage consultants and contractors, and contribute to planning instruments such as Development Control Plans and planning certificates.
A key part of the role is fostering a high‑performing, customer‑focused team culture while working closely with internal stakeholders, community groups and external agencies. You’ll champion innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement to deliver safe, functional and future‑ready community facilities.

$117,368.68 - $132,135.64 + Civil Liability Allowance (if eligible) + 12% Superannuation + Access to Motor Vehicle Leaseback Scheme
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
- Relevant degree in building, engineering or asset management.
- Significant experience in asset management functions relating to building assets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a customer focused team, skilled in preparing technical briefs and reports, business cases, capital work programs.
- Understanding of or experience with the Australian Business Excellence framework or experience in development and execution of improvement initiatives or continuous improvement
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
