As a senior leader within Council’s People and Culture service unit, the Workforce Diversity and Resourcing Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping Inner West Council’s workforce to be inclusive, representative, and future-ready.
This position leads Council’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, workforce accessibility and gender equity initiatives, and oversees talent acquisition and onboarding practices to enhance Council’s reputation as an employer of choice.
The role is responsible for embedding inclusive practices across the employee lifecycle ensuring the diversity and inclusion agenda is fully integrated in our people processes. It will lead efforts to improve Council’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and ensuring recruitment and onboarding experiences are equitable, engaging and aligned to Council’s values.
In this role, you will lead a small team of specialists and work collaboratively across Council to deliver strategic workforce outcomes.

$136,983.08 - $149,199.96 + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Public Administration or related field, or equivalent experience at a senior level within a multi-disciplinary organisation
- Demonstrated experience leading DEI strategies and workforce inclusion initiatives in a complex organisation
- Deep understanding and knowledge of end-to-end talent acquisition and onboarding processes and programs, including employer branding and candidate experience
- Strong understanding of accessibility, gender equity, and employment pathways for disadvantaged groups
- Experience in leading teams and managing cross-functional projects with measurable outcomes
- High-level stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across diverse groups
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including use of workforce data to inform strategy
- Knowledge of and capacity to apply EEO, WH&S and Environmental Management principles in the workplace
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in Local Government or public sector environment.
- Knowledge of TechOne, Oracle or similar HR systems
- Understanding of Business Excellence or continuous improvement frameworks
- Current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence
