About the role

As a senior leader within Council’s People and Culture service unit, the People Performance and Strategy Manager plays a pivotal role in driving strategic workforce initiatives and continuous improvement across Council’s People & Culture function

This position is responsible for leading the implementation of Council’s Workforce Management Strategy and oversees performance and capability improvement functions, including P&C business process optimisation, P&C systems enablement, workforce analytics, and digital transformation. The role leads a small team and acts as the primary liaison between People & Culture and ICT for P&C systems and digital solutions.

In this role, you will lead a small team of specialists and work collaboratively across Council to deliver strategic workforce outcomes.

Remuneration

$136,983.08 - $149,199.96 + 12% Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Business, or related discipline with significant experience in HR leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading strategic workforce initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong capability in HR systems, data analytics, dashboard development, and digital enablement.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR business processes and performance frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including use of workforce data to inform strategy.
  • Knowledge of and capacity to apply EEO, WH&S and Environmental Management principles in the workplace.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Local Government or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of TechOne and common local government computer systems and platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Australian Business Excellence Framework or similar models/frameworks.
  • Current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence.
