About the role

As Governance Manager, you will lead and manage Council’s governance functions with a focus on statutory interpretation, policy development, delegations, legislative compliance, and implementing audit recommendations and reporting to the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.

Remuneration

A market competitive Total Remuneration Package (TRP) that recognises:

• Market relativity
• Additional hours worked required to meet position requirements and performance expectations
• Option to access IWC motor vehicle lease back scheme. Alternatively, there is a novated leasing or salary packaging a vehicle through a provider.

The TRP includes the following components:

• Base salary and superannuation (SCG) contribution, and may include:
  - market premium 
  - cost of non-cash benefits 
  - cost of fringe benefits tax (FBT) 

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Law, Local Government, Commerce, Secretariat, or similar relevant area, and/or extensive experience in a similar role.
2. Experience managing the implementation of Audit Recommendations and subsequent reporting to the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee.
3. Significant experience in statutory interpretation, policy development, and the planning and coordination of governance reviews and initiatives.
4. Demonstrated experience leading the development and implementation of governance initiatives, including delegations and legislative compliance frameworks.
