About the roles

Are you a skilled and driven Senior Planner looking for an exciting and dynamic work environment to develop your expertise?

Join our Development Assessment team at Inner West Council as a Senior Planner where you will have the opportunity to grow as a professional while working on challenging and interesting issues. The complexity and diversity of the LGA offers huge scope of experience for planners and exposure to complex and large projects.  If you join us, you will assess plans from industry leading architects and work on challenging and interesting issues and projects such as industrial conversions, mixed use developments, heritage conservation areas, flight paths, flood affected zones, view loss, foreshore and habitat areas, the Parramatta Road corridor urban transformation strategy and emerging sustainable development programme.

You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding junior colleagues, while also taking on high-level responsibilities such as attending the Land and Environment Court and exercising delegations.

Remuneration

$106,774.72 to $122,105.88+ 11.5% Superannuation + Car Allowance

Please read the Position Description to familiarise yourself with all the requirements and conditions of the role. 

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications 

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline.
  2. Extensive experience in development assessment in local government particularly in NSW and the social, political, legal and regulatory frameworks in which it operates.
  3. Excellent knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act and related planning legislation and concepts as they relate to development assessment.
  4. NSW Class C Driver’s Licence.
